About

Hello, I'm Justine.

American-Belgian writer who has spent much of her life between systems—linguistically, culturally, institutionally. That in-betweenness is in my DNA, and it shapes my perspective. I've been driven to writing the stories I wasn’t seeing onscreen, mostly about middle-aged women pushed to the margins, and cross-cultural narratives without trauma, tourism, or rescue.

Stories that integrate multiple identities and include different generations better match the real world. And so, they are key to reimagining a better one.

“Bring back the campfire.”
